Has anyone ever been inspired by one of these posters (found outside the Red Cross, in Sydney's Clarence Street), to burst into the donation centre, and say,
"Hi, I'd like to donate a large number of platelets, you can take a moderate amount of plasma, but no blood. Cool with you?"?

Maybe it's a case of 'You'll take what's on your platelet, and you'll like it!'
I think as a kid I as told to "take what's on my platelet and eat it".
In adult life, I enjoy my steaks done rare.
Platelet puns on the side...
I think they actually do that ie. take blood out of you, filter out the platelets +/- plasma and then put your blood cells back inside you through the same needle/vein. So it takes longer.
Don't start the "in the same vein" puns, winmeister ... [shudder, thinks of TimT]
Uh .... thanks Rodrigo. You too.
